BANTIMURUNG - The Kingdom of Butterfly



National Parks Bantimurung Bulusaraung located in South Sulawesi, an area of 43,750 hectares. Government administration This national park is situated in Maros regency and District Pangkajene Islands (Pangkep). National Park Bantimurung, there are few sights that can be visited, like a waterfall Bantimurung, National Museum of Butterflies, Cave Rock and the Cave of Dreams. Bantimurung waterfall is one of the natural attractions in South Sulawesi a very famous and much visited by tourists.


The waterfall is approximately 20 meters in width and height of 15 meters. Below the waterfall there is an outpouring of bathhouse from the base of limestone and covered with layers of hard minerals due to the flow of water for hundreds of years.




In the years 1856-1857 a leading British naturalist
named Alfred Russel Wallace spent most of his life this region
to enjoy and examine the 150 species of butterfly butterfly ¬ which is not found
in other areas. Wallacea also dubbed this region "The Kingdom Of Butterfly"
because of the diversity of its kind. In this area there are also several caves
The only one that is the Cave of Dreams by 1500 m long tunnel and
have a wonderful ornaments.
